From Brazil to Florida, Midway Labs Discovers success through globalization

Those of us who work daily at the Oxford Group, based in Boca Raton, Florida, often mention in our marketing and advertising promotions that we offer a complete range of services to help companies situated in other countries, particularly Brazil, to move to the United States and establish a new business footprint here.

For the past 45 years – 28 of them in the US – we have shared that formula with off-shore firms. As a result, we became the largest Brazilian consulting company in the nation.

To coin a phrase, we have practiced what we preach. And we still present that message to companies interested in expanding their worldwide presence from a location within the USA.

Consider, for a moment, a company called Midway Labs.  The firm was born in Brazil, but officials there understood the meaning of globalization and the idea that it could boost its level of success by operating from a safe and friendly atmosphere. So, it moved its headquarters to the State of Florida in the USA.

With motivation from Governor Rick Scott along with information and support by Enterprise Florida, a public-private partnership between Florida’s business and government leaders, Midway has expanded its activities and is taking on an even more extensive role in the world market.

Midway already creates products using 100% American raw material. The firm has contracted with 11 factories in Florida and nine others around the US with “good manufacturing practices” (GMP) certificates and has registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The company was expected to produce a total of $35 million in goods during 2017.

Midway Labs focuses on various nutritional items, health-building enhancements and medicinal items for athletes and those who must maintain body strength, response and readiness for their work.

Marketed under the name Military Trail Supplements, products are designed to improve endurance, allow for healthy weight loss, improve protein intake and boost testosterone.

The company also bottles L-carnitine, considered a conditionally essential nutrient. Carnitine mediates the transport of medium/long-chain fatty acids across mitochondrial membranes. Facilitating their oxidation (burn) with subsequent energy production, it also helps transport intermediate toxic compounds out of the mitochondria, thus preventing their accumulation.

Many health benefits have been attributed to the administration of carnitine, both as a drug in the treatment of primary and secondary carnitine deficiency syndromes and also as a dietary supplement to aid weight loss, improve exercise performance and enhance a sense of well-being.

The firm also generates a line of Glamour Nutrition items, born from the idea that women have different nutrient and skin care needs than men. So, it’s obvious that women require special attention in the nutrition arena. With that in mind, the Glamour Nutrition Team created a dedicated line of supplements designed to encourage beauty from within.  For the current year, Midway will be expanding its annual production to about $100 million. The projected investment over the next five years is $1 billion, including the manufacturing and marketing of health supplements.

Company officials expect the firm to invest more than $20 million in research and development of new projects. In the process, it will become the world center for analysis of the positive effects of supplements and will develop into a landmark for the physical and mental health of mankind.

Today, Midway already employs approximately 2,000 direct and indirect workers through raw materials, marketing, freight and warehousing industries, and will create an additional 5,000 jobs.
