TAX REFORM MUST GUIDE THE FINANCIAL MARKET IN 2020

Last Thursday (01/16), the president of the Congress, Rodrigo Maia, declared in his social networks that the tax reform will be approved in this first semester.
The reform is under discussion in the special commission that was created by the Congress in 2019. With the reform, the idea is that the new tax will replace all taxes on consumption such as ICMS and ISS. Political analyst and economist Carlo Barbieri considers that the American tax reform was beneficial.
“With the reform done and approved, the American government, first, reduced the percentage of taxes from 35% to 22% for companies, in a relevant incentive for companies in relation to being profitable and also changed their tax base to territorial, or that is, the companies that have their headquarters located here, regardless of their origin, American or even Brazilian, do not need to pay taxes in the USA on the gains obtained outside the American territory,” analyzes Barbieri.
