Crise no PSL ajuda a turbinar a participação do MDB em cargos chaves
Com a substituição da deputada federal Joice Hasselmann (PSL-SP) pelo senador Eduardo Gomes (MDB-TO) como líder do governo no Congresso, o MDB passa a ocupar duas lideranças do governo de Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) no Legislativo
Maior partido do país em número de filiados, o MDB foi, até agora, o maior beneficiário da crise interna do PSL. Com a substituição da deputada federal Joice Hasselmann (PSL-SP) pelo senador Eduardo Gomes (MDB-TO) como líder do governo no Congresso, o MDB passa a ocupar duas lideranças do governo de Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) no Legislativo. No Senado, o líder do governo é o senador Fernando Bezerra Coelho (MDB-PE).
O perfil de Gomes alinhado ao de Bolsonaro, foi o que levou à escolha do presidente. O senador votou contra desidratar a reforma da Previdência e a favor do decreto presidencial que flexibilizou o porte de armas. A nomeação dele favorece a estratégia do MDB de ampliar seu espaço de poder. O partido também está de olho nas eleições municipais de 2020.
Segundo o especialista em direito eleitoral e político Eduardo Tavares, a intenção da legenda é eleger o maior número possível de prefeitos para reforçar a base política e aumentar, nas eleições seguintes, a bancada de deputados e senadores. Apesar de ter encolhido no pleito do ano passado, o partido é o dono da maior bancada no Senado e o quinto maior na Câmara, ao lado do PSD, com 34 deputados federais.
“O MDB com poder de articulação consegue apresentar base e trazer aliados. Em razão disso, demonstra a necessidade de estar mais dentro do governo e consegue retomar a visibilidade. Posteriormente, deve voltar a buscar a Presidência do Senado, a da Câmara ou, ainda, os ministérios. Há uma nítida demonstração de interesse”, analisa Tavares.
O especialista avalia que o MDB oferece governabilidade a Bolsonaro. “É o que o PSL busca. O MDB vai oferecer governabilidade. Trazendo aliados, mostra para o Planalto que precisa deles e abre essa coalizão. O MDB teve perda de prefeitos e precisa retomar a base. Quanto mais ele tiver a nível municipal, mais possibilidade de barganha política a nível nacional terá. É uma construção de musculatura para buscar a Presidência, que é o sonho de todo partido. O MDB está vindo de baixo para cima”, completa.
O analista político Carlo Barbieri ressalta que o partido sofreu revés nas últimas eleições por escândalos de corrupção. O retorno, de acordo com ele, dá ao partido uma nova oportunidade de participar do governo, das verbas e cargos. “Por outro lado, teria mistura da imagem do governo PSL, que se coloca contra corrupção com o MDB, o que melhora a imagem da ‘velha política’, pela qual poderia ser atacado. É uma jogada inteligente, habilidosa.”
Ao contrário de Tavares, Barbieri diz que o MDB não se preocupa com a eleição presidencial de 2022. “A eles, interessa o poder. Ter poder no Congresso e, a partir daí, no Executivo, sempre foi o que fez o partido mais forte. Pela primeira vez, um presidente governaria sem o MDB. A ausência durou pouco porque em um ano ele já está voltando ao poder”, concluiu.
O senador Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM) afirmou que a escolha por Gomes como líder do governo no Congresso foi uma decisão de Bolsonaro, e não significa que o partido esteja buscando uma aproximação com o governo. “Foi uma escolha pessoal do presidente. O partido não tem alinhamento com o governo, tem uma posição de independência. Se estamos em evidência, é mérito dos senadores, que têm competência”, disse o emedebista.
