The state of Florida is the main destination chosen by Brazilians not only for tourism but to position companies. Data released by the Chamber of Commerce register economic growth in excess of US$1 trillion and GDP growth was estimated at US$2.74 billion per day.

At an event with renowned Brazilian businessmen in the city of Boca Raton-FL, this Wednesday, the 13th, the new Consul General of Brazil in Florida, Ambassador João Mendes Pereira, reaffirmed Brazil’s position in strengthening relations with the United States, especially from the economic point of view. During the meeting, the Consul also presented a brief overview of how he intends to conduct his administration in favor of the Brazilian community that resides in the state.

“We have more than 400 thousand Brazilians residing in Florida. It is an indescribable pleasure to be able to contribute to the lives of so many people. Our management will prioritize making life easier for Brazilians who live here. Brazil’s relations with the United States should also be further strengthened in the coming months. And we are going to work to be ever closer to the Brazilian community here in the United States”, stated the ambassador.

The meeting was held at the residence of a Brazilian veteran in the city of Boca Raton, economist, consultant and businessman Carlo Barbieri, whom the ambassador vehemently thanked for the invitation and the initiative to welcome him. “I am grateful for the initiative of Carlo Barbieri and his wife, examples of successful Brazilians here in Florida, for providing us with this moment”, said João Mendes.

“It is a pleasure for us to welcome the ambassador to our home and bring him closer, the consulate in general, to the Brazilian community. The consulate is a strong arm that protects Brazilian immigrants and, for us, it is very important to always be able to count on this support”, pondered Carlo Barbieri, who has been managing the Oxford Group company for over 30 years, a consultancy specializing in the internationalization of companies for the USA.

TRAVELING CONSULATE IN FLORIDA

Also during the event, the Consul General stated that his administration intends to expand the consulate’s operations in the cities of Florida-USA. “We intend to be more present in other cities. For Orlando, we hope to open even a small room, so that Brazilians who live there do not have to travel so many kilometers to resolve issues here in Miami”, pondered João Mendes.

On the occasion of the event, Brazilian journalist Rodrigo Lins delivered his book to the Consul General: “Internationalize Yourself: Parameters for Taking a Professional Career to the United States”. In the work, the journalist, who won a green card for having a career considered extraordinary by the American Government, highlights the main immigrant and non-immigrant visas, tells his case and gives valuable tips for those who intend to immigrate legally to work and live in the US.
